"You Are, I Am was written to be the centerpiece of a musical play Becky and I created for our church. The production was called "The Children of Bethlehem" and was a story that related several moments in the life of Christ through both documented and fictional witnesses to those events. The song is sung by a fictitious midwife that may have delivered the child in the stable on the first Christmas.

"In our story, the midwife begins to notice things about the baby that are different than any child she has delivered before. Eventually, as the song moves along, she comes to recognize and believe that the child is the messiah that has been foretold for hundreds of years." ~Rocky
